He is also a past president of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA). Heiskell was a 2015 Inductee to the TCDLA Hall of Fame and is a past recipient of the Blackstone Award from the Tarrant County Bar Association in 2020 for his exemplary abilities, integrity and courage in the courtroom.
